On Holy Island, right in the middle of the village there was a Brids of Prey exhibition. These are all sanctuary birds and obviously used to being handled. However is was a excellent opportunity to shoot some birds you normally don't see.
There are still swans around Eastwood (late October) so on one of my walks I spent rather too long photographing them. The first shot here has had some severe levels applied to bring out the reflection but I masked out the swan to retain detail.
On thing I like about our garden in the fruit. Here is a sample of some of our harvest.
There are a lot of Dragonflies at Shipley Country Park! Unfortunately they fly too fast to get good pictures. These are the best of about 30 shots - a lot of the rest have no dragonfly at all :-(
A walk along the Erewash canal in late September and I was surprised to see flowers in bloom. Not one to waste an opportunity here are some of the better ones.
Not the best photograph in the world but I like it. To give extra punch I masked the reed itself in one layer and then applied a blurr effect to reduce the detail in the background.
I took a short cut, being lazy, and was rewarded with these two shots of some Fungi. I've used flash here to boost the available light and a wide apature to limit the depth of field.
